Bio

William “Biff” Farrell is an Academic Multimedia Specialist and Director of Video Production at the Center for Teaching Excellence, housed within the University of Oklahoma. Working with OU faculty and staff he guides the training, implementation and production of video into learning environments while also researching new and perhaps disruptive media solutions for higher education. Previously, he was an Associate Professor and Department Head of Video Production at Pellissippi State in Knoxville, TN. In this capacity he worked to guide curriculum, matching student production curriculum with broadcast networks and production facilities along the East Coast. He has trained producers in both private and academic settings including, SCRIPPS Networks Interactive (HGTV, DIY, GAC, Food Network, Travel Channel) and was a freelance editor and shooter with the Visitors’ Information Channel, creating a travel show for the Southern Appalachians. Internationally, Farrell has taught documentary production, independent project, photography and media technologies in France, Belgium and Holland. He networked opportunities for students in Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
